Why Ethanol Conversations
Why a blog? Why take the time and effort to defend a product and technology that has wrongfully been blamed for world hunger, increasing food prices and destroying the environment? The answer is simple, because YOU are still here looking for accurate information about Ethanol and the enormous benefits that are derived from its production and utilization.
There is a ton of content on the Internet regarding ethanol. Science -based research, environmental advocates speaking for and against the product and technology, as well as the rational and irrational sides of the food and fuel debate.
Recently, several ethanol industry organizations merged to form Growth Energy. We wanted to find out who all is out there actively talking and being heard by consumers in all spaces, including on the Web. What we discovered was that the balanced information, the information from University and Independent Researchers was not breaking through the clutter of information that was crowding Google and Yahoo search pages. When tens of thousands of people were searching on the term Food vs. Fuel earlier this summer, very little content was showing up that accurately portrayed the facts.
Well, after some very hard work from our staff here at Growth Energy and many other companies and associations across the industry, we now have insured that the facts about Ethanol and biofuels in general are online and easy to find. Of course we are biased, but the first place we would send you today is drivingethanol.org, Growth Energy’s consumer information site. It is currently being rebuilt, but will be back up soon. It will be chalked full of information regarding Energy Independence, Environmental Information and of course Food and Fuel. Our approach has been teamwork. We have optimized, amplified and syndicated. By now we are all experts at social bookmarking, creating hyperlinks and RSS feeds. The outcome is simple, consumers are now getting the balanced and factual information they deserve regarding ethanol. Hurray for the industry!!
Why a blog? Because we want to play a personal role in helping to insure that we maintain our focus on consumer-based information that is easy to find and influential to those that find it.
